Another part of the workshop are the commissions given to the arrangers on the first night of the week by honorary conductor Vince Mendoza. During the workshop and within hardly more than three days every participant is asked to deliver a two minute full orchestra arrangement.
As the commissions are given blind-folded, nobody is able to choose the style or to prepare. This came not without some stress and sleepless nights but at the same time offered a lot of experience and a lot of fun.
My task was to arrange a short Stravinsky piano piece from the series “Le Cinq Doits”: Allegro.
